Don’t forget about butterfree. He let him go to. The only time i think its dumb when he lets them go is when they dont want to go, like primeape and pidgeot. butterfree and lapras wanted to go. Lapras and butterfree probably would have left no matter what anyways. they wanted to leave
actually butterfree was the 1st pokemon ash let free then it was primeape then pidgeot and then lapras . ash never caught haunter so it wasnt his pokemon so he couldnt have let it free if it wasnt his
