Ash finally arrives at his destination: Littleroot Town. Shortly after, Team Rocket steals Pikachu. Soon, Pikachu and Meowth get lost and meet a lot of lonely Pokémon. Team Rocket returns to steal Pikachu and save Meowth, but are defeated. In the end, Ash finds out that Pikachu is ill.

On the way back to Pallet Town, Misty has a phonecall from her sisters that they won the cruise around the world. Misty is forced to guard the Gym in her sisters’ absence and realizes that Nurse Joy fixed her bike. Brock is forced to get back home too. While Brock and Misty return to their respective hometowns, Ash decides to sets off for the region of Hoenn with only Pikachu.
